About UPTD
Umpqua Public Transportation District (UPTD) is committed to providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation services throughout Douglas County, Oregon. Serving communities including Roseburg, Winston, Dillard, Sutherlin, and Oakland, UPTD plays a vital role in connecting residents to employment, healthcare, education, and essential services.
At UPTD, we believe public transportation should do more than move people — it should connect communities, expand opportunities, and improve quality of life. Our services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our region, from fixed-route bus service that keeps our communities moving, to demand-response options that provide flexibility and accessibility for those who need it most.
What We Provide
Fixed Route Service
Reliable, scheduled bus routes that connect key corridors and communities across the district, supporting daily commutes and essential travel.
Paratransit Service
Door-to-door transportation for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use fixed-route services, ensuring equitable access to mobility.
Dial-A-Ride
Flexible, pre-scheduled transportation for older adults and individuals with disabilities, expanding access beyond traditional transit routes.
Our Commitment
UPTD is focused on strengthening the agency through transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency. We are actively working to ensure long-term sustainability while continuing to improve service delivery and rebuild trust within the communities we serve.
Through strong partnerships, responsible stewardship of public funds, and a clear focus on community needs, UPTD is positioning itself for the future — with the goal of restoring and expanding services as funding opportunities allow.
Moving Douglas County Forward
Public transit is essential in a rural community like ours. It reduces barriers, supports independence, and strengthens the local economy. Every ride we provide is an investment in the people and communities of Douglas County.
